Justice Sandra Day O'Connor,Ret. United States Supreme Court, and Chief Justice Ruth V. McGregor, Arizona Supreme Court, welcomed over a hundred guests to Join other Arizona Leaders for a Colloquy, "THE HISTORY, PURPOSE, AND FUTURE OF JUDICIAL INDEPENDENCE" on March 3rd at Pointe Squaw Peak Resort. Former clerks of Justice O'Connor also participated in the panel discussion presenting on the following issues:

  • The History of Anglo-American Judicial Independence
  • Judicial Independence from an International Perspective
  • Challenges and Responses in the Federal Courts
  • Challenges and Responses in the State Courts

Following the presentations the guests of educators, public officials, and community leaders participated in a question and answer period. The memorable afternoon concluded with a Tea Reception. The event was cosponsored by the "Arizona Foundation for Legal Services & Education" and "Justice for All."
