Overview: Respecting authority figures can be difficult for many, especially youth. During this academy, participants will learn interactive ways to educate students on the civic responsibility of respect for law enforcement, parents and educators. Through activities, students will learn positive ways to communicate with authority, understand the reasons for laws/rules, and obtain the knowledge needed to respect the individuals who enforce those laws and rules.   
 
Training Objectives:
  • Educate students on why laws and rules exist
  • Teach students the civic virtue and responsibility of respecting authority
  • Learn how to effectively communicate during controversial issues
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of people in authoritative roles
 
Campus Issues Addressed:
  • Lack of understanding rights and responsibilities
  • Lack of appreciation for surrounding community
  • Lack of understanding laws

    **Trainings are FREE for School Safety Officers. Scholarships are available on a limited basis for educators from a School Safety Site
