Timeline for Teachers

October Begin learning Rules of Tournament and Simplified Rules of Evidence with students.
November Case Materials available online
End of November Make copies of case, tournament rules, and simplified rules of evidence for students.
December /January Experiment with students being both attorneys and witnesses for both the Plaintiff (Prosecution) and Defense before selecting which students will perform those roles for actual competition.
January/February Attend meeting scheduled by your Regional Coordinator.
February Conduct a pre-tournament meeting with students regarding the purpose of the upcoming competition, dress and conduct at the courthouse. Review scoring guidelines and Dispute Resolution section of the Rules of Competition.
Day of Tournament Arrive at designated place for the Regional Tournament. Give yourself plenty of time to arrive, take care of paperwork, and gather thoughts before the competition begins. Remember to register your team. Regional Coordinators will provide lunch for each participant. Any guest(s) attending the competition should make their own arrangements for lunch.

Teacher / Coaches of the teams invited to the State Finals will be contacted following the Regional Tournament.
