Description

Overview:  During this training, participants will learn impacting ways to educate students on the effects of drugs and alcohol.  The academy will cover a range of drugs from items that can be found at home, such as inhalants and prescription drugs, to the powerfully addictive drug, methamphetamine.  Participants will learn interactive teaching strategies that will help students make informed decisions and will leave with a variety of curricula and resources to enhance any school’s drug prevention efforts.  
 
Objectives: As a result of this training, participants will be able to teach students the following:
  • Lessons which target drug prevention
  • The health, legal, and social consequences of using illegal drugs
  • Decision making skills when pressured to use illegal drugs while in social settings
