Description

Overview: This training will provide participants with interactive methods to educate youth on the risks associated with heroin use. It will also address statistics, addiction, and warning signs of users.   Additionally, participants will learn how to educate youth on the dangers of the drug without enticing them to the world of drug abuse. Participants will receive lesson plans and resources designed to help youth make positive, educated decisions.
 
*An expert in this field will facilitate a 1 hour session at this academy to provide participants with additional content knowledge regarding this topic.
 
Objectives:
  • Educate students in the dangers associated with the use of heroin
  • Teach problem-solving skills and the legal consequences associated with heroin use
  • Develop strategies to cope with peer pressure and make healthy choices
