New Arizona High School Mock Trial State Champion!
The 2013 Arizona High School Mock Trial State Champion is Mountain Ridge High School. After participating in 4 rounds and a finals round against Xavier College Preparatory, before 7 judges, Mountain Ridge was awarded First Place Saturday night, March 23rd, at the Sandra Day O'Connor Federal Courthouse. Second Place was awarded to Xavier (Phoenix), Third Place to Arizona School for the Arts (Phoenix), and 4th Place to University High School. (Tucson). The All State Team members were:
Heidi Artigue (Chaparral) Who also won a $500 scholarship from the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel
Alexis Carter (South Mountain) Who also won a $300 scholarship from the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel
Madison Dodge (University) Who also won a $200 scholarship from the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel
Sarah Molinaro (Mountain Ridge)
Margo Evilsizor (Arizona School for the Arts)
Victoria Wisthoff (Xavier)
Jay Lusk (BASIS Flagstaff)
The winner of the Justice Ryan Special Award of Merit was Valerie DeLuca from Mountain Ridge.

2012 State Mock Trial Results
We are proud to announce the results of the 2012 State Mock Trial tournament!
- 1st Place - Xavier North (Team SER) (Representing Arizona at the National Competition in Albuquerque May 3-6)
- 2nd Place - Brophy (Team HJK)
- 3rd Place - Arizona School for the Arts (Team BNM)
- 4th Place - St. Gregory (Team QLK)
Thank you to the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel for their generous donation of $1,000 which allowed us to provide scholarships to the following outstanding student attorneys:
- $500 Scott Jones – Arizona School for the Arts
- $300 Blake Tonn – Brophy
- $200 Ariana Luna- Xavier West
The following students received outstanding nominations from the judges and were awarded medals and certificates as part of the “ALL STATE” team:

The award given in memory of Justice Michael D. Ryan to recognize the most outstanding individual performance in the championship round of the 2012 Arizona High School Mock Trial State Tournament was given to Shelby Clark – Xavier North.
This year’s State AND Region 3 Court Artist Contest Winner was Amy Silagy from Mountain Ridge High School
The Region 4 Winner was Jenna Brilon from Desert Mountain High School.
2011-12 Mock Trial Tournament Dates
The 2011-12 Mock Trial Tournament dates have been set! The Regional Tournaments will be held in courthouses around Arizona on March 3, 2012. The State Tournament will be held at the Federal Courthouse in Phoenix on March 24, 2012. To register for the regional tournaments, please visit the website, www.azflse.org/mocktrial.

The National High School Mock Trial Championship Board in partnership with Great River Technologies presents the NATIONAL MOCK TRIAL PRACTICUM WEBSITE
This valuable tool enhances the mock trial experience for students, teachers, and coaches.This dynamic website includes interactive exercises that allow students to test their knowledge of the trial process. It demonstrates opening statements, closing arguments, direct examinations, cross examinations, and much more. The site also includes flash cards, video clips, drag and drop exercises, and a discussion forum for students and coaches.
COST: $100 per team (up to 8 students) $10 per each additional team member
