Law Related Education Library Updated

You Are Invited to visit our newly upgraded LRE Lending Library, located at our office at the Arizona Bar Center, 4201 N. 24th St., Suite 210, Phoenix, says Kay Lapid, the Foundation staff coordinating the library activities. Our collection of Law Related Education materials contains a wide variety of video tapes, books, teaching guides and curricula aimed at assisting teachers and school resource officers in teaching meaningful and contemporary lessons in citizenship and the law.

New Materials include Holocaust Education
In recent months, many new materials have been added to the shelves, the most recent one being an outstanding curriculum for Holocaust Education developed by the Anti-Defamation League in conjunction with the Yad VaShem Holocaust Memorial Museum in Israel and the USC Shoah Foundation Institute.

The most popular topics are the Bill of Rights (students are always interested in learning what their rights are!), Substance Abuse, Violence Prevention and Juvenile Justice. Other topics include Character & Ethics; Citizenship: Responsibility, Choice & Governance; Conflict Resolution; Criminal Justice; Diversity; Elections; Historical Documents; World Governments; Law & Law Making; Native Americans; Service Learning; Court System; and LRE through Stories. There is a large number of supplemental materials to assist in teaching Foundation sponsored programs of We the People, Project Citizen, Mock Trial and Forensic Science. We invite you to stop by and visit, and make use of this wonderful resource in your own LRE activities!

Library hours are Monday through Friday, 9-4. For more information, contact, [email protected].
